DRIVE THROUGH NATIINAL PARK EMERY UTAH
I am so grateful to have friends who are so well-versed in the natural formation of these mountains and valleys here in Utah. Yesterday I had a 12 hour tour slowly and methodically through off the road tricks via truck through the gorgeous mountains in So Utah. We went to areas called Last Chance Valley, small towns named Sevier and Torrey, and the Castle Reef National Park. Besides the obvious time changes that created the strata in color and rock composition, I was introduced to the volcanic anomalies known as"dykes" that are black and protrusions of hot lava that cooled off and formed by pushing the soil apart during its eruption. It looks a little bit like a dragons back spine and can be seen throughout the Canyons where we travel. It's hard to describe the continuous beauty that is available. It's also obvious that, for lack of water, there is a very low population in Utah. It would be very hard to survive out here. Was able to see if you characters from the Animal Kingdom. Saw a bobcat, possibly a beaver, and a group of antelope crossing our path. All in all, what a fantastic day.
