I left Utah today. Really enjoyed that part of my trip. Mary Ann and Paul were super hosts that made my Utah adventure all that much better. The last day we went to a lake and leisurely kayaked. It was beautiful and refreshing. Picnic under the trees. On my way out of the state today , I took a southernly detour to the Arches National Park just before the city of Moab. I left early hoping to not only beat some of the crowds but the heat. I didn't quite achieve those goals. The park was starting to get a little crowded and the heat was cranking up to 95 Plus. In order to take true pictures of the Arches one has to be able to park and Hike out. I guess I'm just not a 95 to 100 degree camper/hiker. I think I'll plan to come back sometime in the spring or in the fall. When it's not quite so hot. I have to say, the park and the mountain formations are so humbling and overwhelmingly huge. It's hard to explain what it feels like. It seems like you're on another planet and you're expecting Giants or dinosaurs or Mount Olympus Gods to just show up. It's that impressive. I will include some pictures but I don't think they'll do it justice. Good stopping and Grand Junction for the night and then heading to Denver tomorrow.
